Swamp Rose Cooperative is hiring for two positions on our landscaping crew.

  • Based out of our headquarters in downtown Silver Spring, with work throughout the DC metro area.

  • $25/hour - $30/hour depending on experience; 40 hours a week

  • Start date immediately, with work through end of November and a potential extension into winter based on project demand

  • Option to pursue a path to worker-ownership

  • Eligibility for medical, 401k, and time off benefit

Landscape crew members

Responsibilities:

  • Perform garden maintenance, including weeding, mulching, pruning, and planting native species

  • Assist with ecological landscape care, such as invasive species removal and habitat restoration

  • Support new landscape installations as needed

  • Operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment safely

  • Drive company trucks to job sites (valid driver’s license required)

  • Work collaboratively with crew members under the guidance of crew lead and other cooperative members

  • Previous experience in commercial landscaping required

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicles; DOT card preferred

  • Ability to perform physical labor in all weather conditions

  • Spanish proficiency preferred

  • Knowledge of native plants a plus
