Nursery

Our nursery is open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning March 21, and on Fridays in April from 2 to 6 p.m.

Shop native plants at our convenient location near downtown Silver Spring. We’ll have a large mix of flowering perennials, sedges/grasses, shrubs and trees! And don’t forget to check out our Swamp Rose Co-op merch!

Pollinator Day + Recycling with One Montgomery Green

Saturday, April 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

On Saturday April 11 from 10am-4pm, the nursery is celebrating our native pollinators! What better way to support our ecosystem than to give our bumblebees, hummingbirds, and more the food and shelter that they’ve co-evolved with? Chat with our team about the kinds of pollinators you’d like to attract. 

During this day, from 10am-1pm, Silver Spring UMC and One Montgomery Green are hosting a community shredding and electronics recycling day! Bring all that stuff you’ve been meaning to recycle and enjoy treats from a local food truck while you’re at it.

  • We sell about 50 varieties of flowering perennials, sedges, grasses, shrubs and trees. As the season goes on, more varieties will become available for purchase.

  • We sell most of our native plants either in 1 quart or 3 quart pots. Shrubs and trees vary greatly in size, and will be priced according to the gallon size, but typically are sold in 2-3 gallon sizes.

  • We accept cash, credit and debit cards at all sales events.

  • This season, Swamp Rose won’t be taking curbside plant orders through our online shop. Instead, we’re focusing on in-person events where you’ll be able to browse our wide-variety of species in real time! And don’t worry, we’re planning on events all across the DMV area so you’ll get multiple chances to shop natives from your local cooperative.
